Dr. Murali Chakravarthy has with him an experience of over 34 years. More than 3 decades ago, he established the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain relief at the Fortis Hospitals. He is an authority on various aspects of Hospital Associated Infections. He is an authority on various aspects of Hospital Associated Infections. He obtained his Medical and Postgraduate degrees from University of Mysore during the mid-1980s. He has been a prolific speaker at national and international meetings and is an honourable author of more than 160 scientific papers. He also was the part of the team that performed the first awake beating-heart surgery and off-pump awake surgery at Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore. Dr. Murali Chakravarthy's areas of special interest are: Dr Chakravarthy is identified as the authority on use of epidural in Cardiac surgery. His publication is perhaps the biggest one globally. He has several publication in hospital associated infection control.
