Dr Akshitha Shetty is a well know renowned and one of the best dermatologist( Skin specialist ), Dermato-surgeon, Cosmetic dermatologist and trichologist with over 11 years of experience. She specialises in acne, pigmentary disorders , allergies, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, medical management of hair disorders, hair fall and hair thinning treatments, vesiculobullos disorders, paediatric dermatology, cutaneous infections. After completing her MBBS and MD from Rajiv Gandhi institute of medical sciences, Karnataka, she worked as a Senior resident in Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital, Mumbai following which she worked with the late Dr Rekha Sheth (Founder, President Emeritus of Cosmetic Dermatology Society and Co-founder Dr Sheth line of products ). Here she honed her skills in Dermsurgeries including cryotherapies and skin grafting, varied types of chemical peels, Laser procedures including Nd YAG laser for hair removal, Diode hair removal laser, Pulse dye laser, Intense Pulse Light therapy, Smooth beam (long pulsed Nd YAG),Q switched laser, laser peel (Erbium glass), carbon dioxide laser, fractional lasers including Pixel( Erbium yag), for acne scars, skin pigmentation, skin rejuvenation, skin tightening, scar management, stretch marks, management of complications that arise following laser procedures. She is also well trained in injectables for anti-aging like Botox, fillers, threads etc and various injections for hair growth procedures like PRP, GFC etc. She has also been a honorary fellow at the University of Queensland within the Translation research institute, Brisbane, Australia, for over 2 years where she worked on skin biology, regenerative medicine and skin cancers under the guidance of Professor Dr Kiarash Khosrotehrani who is a clinical scientist and dermatologist.
