Dr. Somashekhar is an active researcher and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals
contributing to the advancement of pediatric surgical practices. Her research interests include:
• Minimally Invasive Pediatric Surgery: She has conducted research on the efficacy and safety of minimally invasive techniques in pediatric surgery
evaluating their benefits in various procedures and patient populations.
• Neonatal Surgery Outcomes: Dr. Somashekhar has investigated factors influencing neonatal surgery outcomes
focusing on improving patient survival
graft function
and quality of life.
• Pediatric Cancer Surgery Outcomes: She has explored novel therapeutic approaches for managing pediatric cancers
investigating the role of minimally invasive techniques and targeted therapies.
• Pediatric Urology Outcomes: Dr. Somashekhar has conducted research on improving pediatric urology outcomes
investigating factors influencing patient recovery

and long-term complications.
Her research has been presented at national and international conferences
sharing her knowledge with the global pediatric surgery community.

Dr. Manjiri Somashekhar is a Gold medalist Paediatric Surgeon with over 25 years of work experience in Advanced Complex Paediatric Surgery which consists of paediatric trauma, complex congenital anomalies, newborn surgery and Paediatric Onco surgery. She has performed over 15000 such complex procedures. She has also been awarded the RK Gandhi Gold Medal. She has also completed a certified training course on DaVinci Robotic Surgery. Previous to her association with Aster Hospitals, she was working with Manipal Hospitals and was also a teaching faculty at Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru.
