Dr. Jyothi Raghuram has extensive research experience in the field of pediatric rheumatology. She has been involved in numerous research studiesboth as a primary investigator and as a collaborator. Her research interests include:
• Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)
• Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
• Kawasaki disease
• Autoinflammatory disorders
• Rare pediatric rheumatic diseases
Dr. Raghuram has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her research at both national and international conferences. She is also an active reviewer for several journals
including the Journal of Rheumatology and the Arthritis & Rheumatism.
Here are some of Dr. Raghuram's most notable research contributions:
• She was the primary investigator of a study that investigated the use of rituximab in the treatment of refractory JIA. The study found that rituximab was an effective treatment for JIA patients who did not respond to other treatments.
• She was a collaborator on a study that developed a new classification system for JIA. The new classification system is more accurate and reliable than the previous system
which will help to improve the diagnosis and treatment of JIA.
• She has also conducted research on the epidemiology of pediatric rheumatic diseases in India. Her research has helped to identify the prevalence of these diseases in India
which will inform the development of prevention and treatment strategies.
Dr. Raghuram is a highly respected researcher in the field of pediatric rheumatology. Her research has made significant contributions to our understanding of these diseases and has improved the care of children with rheumatic diseases.
Awards & Achivements
She is a Life Member of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and the Indian Rheumatology Association. She is presently an Executive Board member of the Pediatric Rheumatology Society of India (2021-22) and is actively involved in organizing CMEs and conferences in Pediatric Rheumatology. She has participated as a delegate and faculty in numerous conferences and teaching programs.She is a committed and caring professional who always puts the interests of her little patients first and foremost.
