Dr. Sundar completed his Nephrology training from the world-renowned Christian Medical College, Vellore. He went on to establish the Nephrology and Transplant program at MS Ramaiah Medical College in 1987 and founded the Karnataka Nephrology and Transplant Institute (KANTI) in 1991. In his illustrious career spanning four decades, Dr Sundar has experience of managing over 3000 kidney transplants. He has special expertise in the management of complicated kidney transplants, palliative nephrology and geriatric kidney transplants. Dr. Sundar is the recipient of the Dronacharya Award for services in the field of Nephrology. He is a former Adjunct Professor of Nephrology at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, a founding member of the Indian Society of Organ Transplant, Peritoneal Dialysis Society of India and the Nephrology Association of Karnataka.
