About Me

Dr Padma Sundaram did her MBBS from Grant Medical College (Mumbai), MD in respiratory diseases from KEM Hospital (Mumbai) and DNB Respiratory Medicine from National Board, Delhi. She was awarded the Raj Nanda Pulmonary fellowship and was trained in Sleep Medicine in the UK. She has been practicing as a pulmonologist for the last 31 years initially in Mumbai and later in Bengaluru in a reputed hospital for the last 20 years where she helped set up the department of respiratory medicine. She worked as a Lecturer and as an Associate Professor in Chest Medicine at TN Medical College Mumbai. She is a recognized postgraduate MD and DNB Professor. She is a member of the Indian Chest Society and Karnataka Pulmonology Association. She has published over 50 papers in national and international medical journals presented papers in medical conferences and participated in clinical trials. She is specialized in the management of Airway disorders, especially Asthma and COPD, Infectious lung diseases, TB, multidrug-resistant TB, ILD, fibrotic, and occupational lung diseases. She has special interest in snoring and sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea. She has managed patients with respiratory failure with ventilators and noninvasive ventilators in hospital and home settings including domiciliary oxygen therapy. She was actively involved in the management of Covid patients and the rehabilitation of patients with post-Covid lung fibrosis She is proficient in various procedures like Bronchoscopy, EBUS, and medical thoracoscopy.
