Her field of interest extends to nerve blocks and obstetric analgesia, and she is part of a well-established acute pain service. She is a certified Acute Illness Management (AIM) instructor trained by the Greater Manchester Critical Care Network. Dr. Mahalakshmi has acquired the skills and competencies required to train staff in the recognition and management of acutely ill patients, providing primary responses for adult patients with deteriorating health. Professional Experience Kauvery hospital is a multispecialty centre for ortho geriatric, vascular, neurosurgery, interventional cardiology, gastroenterology, oncology, urology, complex maternity and paediatrics. As an ANAESTHETIST I had the opportunity to get involved in A&E, Ward Emergencies, CODEBLUE, Pain Management. This helped me gain valuable experience in managing acutely ill patients and prioritising and delegating tasks for the effective utilisation of theatre and manpower resources. Teaching AIM Instructor I am a certified Acute Illness Management (AIM) instructor trained by the Greater Manchester Critical Care Network. I have acquired the Skills and competencies required to train a staff to fulfil their potential in the recording and recognition of the acutely ill patient and provide a primary response for adult patients with deteriorating health. Clinical Teaching For Nurse Practioners: I am developing a competency based training programme for the nurse practitioners in hospital and for the newcomers in nursing department. This is mutually beneficial for nurse practitioners to support our trainees in resuscitating patients in the wards until they are stable or admitted to ICU and also provide a night time outreach service following up patients discharged from critical care.
