Over the years, she has gained special expertise in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Doplar studies, ultrasound, and delivery. Her contribution to Gynaecology, radiology, and fetal medicine has been notable. She completed the course at the renowned UR Shankar University. She pursued an MD (Doctor of Medicine) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology after she finished her MBBS. She completed the degree from the Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi. She completed her MD in the year 1989 with flying colours. While studying at the Lady Hardinge Medical College, she was always awarded for her notable work and contribution. The college awarded her with a trophy to appreciate her contributions to the college's international development. Her college recognised her as the best student of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in her life. She was always passionate about Gynaecology. Dr. Dilip is the best perinatologist in Bangalore. She is also interested in complex gynaecological studies and three-dimensional ultrasound. Dr. Akhila completed her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) in 1986. She is a foremost consultant obstetrician & gynaecologist in Old Airport Road, Bangalore. Today, Dr. Akhila is known in medical circles for her expertise in fields like laparoscopic gynaecology, fertility conservation, treatment of complicated pregnancy, gynaecological endoscopy, and lactation counselling. She has treated many patients at Manipal Hospital as well. She has experience of over 23 years working on various complex cases in gynaecology and fetal medicine. She is a highly skilled doctor who successfully performs growth scans, nuchal translucency scans, and Doppler scans in pregnancy. She is a member of the Medical Ultrasound Society of Karnataka, also called MUSK. Dr. Akhila is an active member of society and has done notable work as a member. She has international memberships in two universities- the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, known as AIUM and the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
