He is the foremost consultant gastroenterology in Old Airport Road, Bangalore Dr. K.N.K. Shetty has a special interest in Advanced Interventional Therapeutic Endoscopy. Over 40 Years, Dr. K.N.K. Shetty has been a pioneer in the field of advanced Endoscopy establishing one of India’s finest Gastroenterology & Endoscopy units in Manipal’s flagship hospital located in Old Airport Road, Bengaluru. He is credited with establishing and launching this department in the year 1991. As an advanced Endoscopist, Dr. K.N.K. Shetty introduced several minimally invasive endoscopic/surgical procedures via an endoluminal approach avoiding the need for surgery which results in an external visible scar. Dr. K.N.K. Shetty did his MBBS from Mysuru Medical College and then went to the UK for postgraduate training, got his MRCP and then went on to do a Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy at the prestigious Royal Post Graduate Medical School, Imperial College, Hammersmith Hospital, London.
