About Me

"Dr. Nidhi Rawal is an experienced gastroenterologist working as a consultant since 2011. She is a dedicated physician who enjoys working with children. She obtained her Medical School degree from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi. She then went to the United States for further training in General Pediatrics. Dr. Nidhi Rawal worked as a Pediatrician in the Motility Center and Feeding Disorders Program at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Given her interest in Gastroenterology, she decided to pursue a 3 year fellowship at University of Maryland Children's Hospital. After graduating from her fellowship, she continued to work as an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Gastroenterology, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine till she and her family decided to move back to India in 2018. During her time at University of Maryland, Dr. Nidhi Rawal was well known for her clinical acumen, ethical practice, good quality patient care and her endoscopy skills. Her clinical approach to medical conditions is guided as much by Evidence based medicine, Systems based practice as it is by per own personal connection with the patient and his/her family. At the University of Maryland, Dr. Nidhi Rawal worked with the Celiac Disease Program and was the Director of the Eosinophilic GI Disorders Program which continues to provide care to many children and adults with celiac disease and GI conditions caused by food allergies. Dr. Nidhi Rawal has contributed to the development of many clinical programs, published many peer reviewed journal articles and authored 3 books so far. and is proficient in procedures such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, manometry studies, pH impedances studies, PEG placements and liver biopsies. Dr. Nidhi Rawal continues to work in the capacity of an Adjunct Faculty with her alma mater, as one of the faculty members directing the Fellowship Research Curriculum.
