About Me

Dr. Sowmyashree is a highly skilled and compassionate expert in Infant, Child, and Adolescent Mental Health with a specialized focus on neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities. After completing her MBBS at KIMS, Bangalore, she pursued an MD/PhD program in Clinical Neurosciences from the prestigious NIMHANS, Bangalore, in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. With extensive experience in treating children and adolescents facing developmental challenges, learning and behavioral issues, as well as family and school-related problems, Dr. Sowmyashree has conducted over 500 workshops and given public lectures for corporates, schools, children and parents across the country on topics related to mental health, well being, parenting and life skills. In addition to her medical expertise, Dr. Sowmyashree is a certified Doordarshan artist, a Vidushi in Bharatanatyam, and a trained Carnatic musician and Western guitarist. She is deeply passionate about fostering moral values in children through the children's club, “Theete Santhe,” a unit of the YENRI Trust, and continues to inspire through her YouTube channel. Dr. Sowmyashree’s holistic approach to mental health and her diverse interests make her a well-rounded and empathetic professional dedicated to the well-being of children and families.
