Dr Lakshmi Shantharam is a Consultant Pediatric ENT specialist working at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore. She completed her medical school from prestigious Mysore Medical College, Mysore University. She did her ENT training at KIMS Bangalore. She then did DNB(ENT) from National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. She Visited pediatric otolaryngology at Stanford University, USA for observership and training. She did Mini fellowship in Otology & Neurotology from University of Miami Ear Institute, USA. She is well versed in routine pediatric surgeries like Tonsillectomy, Adenoidectomy, Myringotomy, Mastoid surgeries, Tympanoplasty, Myringotomy, Grommet insertions, foreign body removal, management of ENT trauma, Nasal surgeries and many medical conditions. She is a trained Cochlear Implant Surgeon and Vertigo Specialist. Dr Lakshmi Shantharam was awarded Gold Medal for getting first rank in Postgraduate Diploma in ENT from University exam conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences, Karnataka. She has presented many papers in national and international conferences. Received Gold Medal for best Poster at the Karnataka association of Otolaryngology conference. She has given talks at Bangalore Gynaecology society, Rangadore memorial hospital and Sapthagiri Medical College etc. She was also invited faculty at BLDE college at Bijapur and gave talks on cochlear implants, Radiology and hearing restoration. She presented a paper on Cochlear Implantation in malformed inner ear at Innsbruck, Austria in 2022. Dr Lakshmi Shantharam believes in explaining the condition and treatment in detail to patients and family. She brings lot of those soft skills and modern approach to treatment from her visits to universities and hospitals abroad.
