Dr Arijit Datta is an accomplished Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon with an impressive track record spanning over 20 years. His professional focus centers around Adult Cardiac Surgery, where he excels in a wide range of intricate procedures. His expertise encompasses the following: Adult Cardiac Surgery: He specializes in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting, both off-pump and on-pump, Valve Replacements (including Mechanical and Bioprosthetic options), Valve Repairs, and complex Combined Procedures such as CABG combined with valve replacement/repairs. Additionally, he is adept at Aortic Surgery. Adult Congenital Heart Defects: He has a strong background in addressing Adult Congenital Heart Defects, offering surgical solutions tailored to each patients unique needs. Pediatric Cardiac Surgery: His proficiency extends to pediatric cases, where he performs procedures like ASD closure, VSD closure, Intracardiac repair of Tetralogy of Fallot, PDA Ligation, Repair of Coarctation of Aorta, and palliative procedures like MBTS and BD Glenn. Thoracic Surgery: His skill set includes performing thoracic procedures such as Decortication and surgeries for Hydatid cysts, Lobectomy, Pneumonectomy, and VATS. Vascular Surgery: He is experienced in both elective and emergency Vascular procedures, encompassing Vascular Trauma, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Surgery, Peripheral Arterial Bypass Grafting, construction of Arterio-venous fistulas, and other vascular access procedures, as well as Embolectomy. Moreover, he has played pivotal roles in establishing new Cardiac Surgery units, both in Kolkata and beyond. In his current role, he has had the privilege of spearheading the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery unit at AMRI Hospitals Mukundapur. Over the past 8 years, our program has flourished, achieving remarkable success. He thrives on the challenges that come with launching new Cardiac Surgery units and the gratification of building and collaborating with dynamic teams.
