Dr.K Ananthanarayanan MD DM is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist with over nine years of experience in the field of child neurology. Dr.Ananth completed his MBBS from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER, Puducherry) and his pediatric training from Madras Medical College, Chennai. He then completed his comprehensive three-year postdoctoral fellowship training in Pediatric Neurology at the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. He is a well-rounded Pediatric Neurologist and was a Consultant in JIPMER for two years. He was in charge of the Neurology clinic with an average monthly footfall of 1000 children with special needs at JIPMER. His expertise lies in the management of various pediatric neurological conditions such as Headaches and Migraine, Epilepsy, Cerebral palsy and Spasticity management, Developmental impairments, Autism, ADHD and Neuromuscular disorders. His special focus of interest includes Acute Pediatric Neurology, Neonatal Neurology and Complex epilepsy. He underwent two-month Observership in the Childhood Epilepsy Program at Royal Children Hospital, Melbourne for the evaluation of pediatric epilepsy surgery. He has also completed a Course in Pediatric Sleep from National University Hospital, Singapore. He is proficient in the interpretation of Pediatric EEG, Nerve conduction study and Amplitude integrated EEG. He has more than sixty publications in world renowned PubMed Indexed Journals. His work on Critical Illness Neuropathy, Raised Intracranial tension in ICU settings, Guillain Barre syndrome and Scrub Typhus Encephalitis have garnered international recognition with frequent citations. He has been an invited speaker in various national and international child neurology meetings and is a professional member of International Child Neurology Association, Canadian League against Epilepsy, Indian Academy of Neurology, Association of Child Neurology India and TREAT NMD.
