• Dr. Subhash Kr. Todi is an esteemed director of the Department of Critical Care at Manipal Hospitals, Dhakuria, Kolkata, with an overall experience of 32 years, including 30 years focused on Critical Care. Dr. Todi started his medical journey by completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), followed by a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Medicine. He further obtained a membership from the distinguished Royal College of Physicians in the UK, solidifying himself as one of the most renowned experts in Critical Care Medicine. He is the foremost Intensivist Doctor in Kolkata. • Dr. Todi’s specialities encompass the areas of Critical Care, Internal and Acute Medicine, Sepsis Management, Ventilatory Management, Glycemic control, and Nutrition for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ensuring comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for critically ill patients. Being the director of the Critical Care Department at Manipal Hospitals, Dhakuria, Dr. Todu plays a significant role in drafting guidelines and protocols in Critical Care Management, standardising patient care, and enhancing the overall quality and safety of critical care practices. • Apart from being a member of the RCP, Dr. Todi is also a part of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM), the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), and the Association of Physicians of India (API), allowing him to remain at the forefront of advancements in the field. He also contributes to medical research by playing a key role in reviewing prestigious journals such as Critical Care Medicine, the Indian Journal of Medical Microbiology (IJMM), and the Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine (IJCCM). • Dr. Todi was also an editor for the publication titled ‘ISCCM Critical Care Update’ from 2017 to 2024, served as the chairperson of the ISCCM Research Committee, and was the organising chair of CRITICARE in 2013, demonstrating his ability to spearhead large-scale initiatives and contribute significantly to the Critical Care community. Moreover, he is a regular participant in many conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education (CMEs) programmes at various levels. His commitment to advancements, coupled with his approach to treatment and fluency in English, Hindi, and Bengali, enables him to provide exceptional care for patients from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds and foster effective communication with his peers and colleagues.
