• Dr. Sumantra Ray is a highly esteemed general and laparoscopic surgeon at Manipal Hospitals, Dhakuria, with over 15 years of extensive experience in Medical Gastroenterology. Renowned for his expertise, Dr. Ray earned his MS (Master of Surgery) from Kolkata following his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery). He actively participates in various professional organisations and holds prestigious memberships in institutions such as the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, the International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons (ICLS), and the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). Dr. Ray furthered his specialisation by completing a DAMS (Diploma in Ayurvedic Medical Science) in Bariatric Surgery from the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India. • Recognised for his significant contributions, Dr. Ray received fellowships from the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons (FIAGES) and in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS). He served as a senior resident in the Surgery and Renal Transplant Department and underwent specialised training in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), critical care, laparoscopic hernia repair, and Laparoscopic Solid Organ Surgery. Dr. Ray's expertise extends to Kidney Transplants, Vascular Surgery (hemodialysis), Breast and Endocrine Surgery, and Trauma Surgery, with a proven track record of assisting in over a thousand successful cases. • Dr. Ray has authored publications in various esteemed journals and presented papers at numerous national and international conferences.
