• Dr. Shamik Ghosh is a distinguished Senior Consultant Paediatrician at Manipal Hospital, Salt Lake, with a profound commitment to the fields of adolescent health and developmental disorders in children. His journey in medicine began with basic medical schooling at Nilratan Sircar Medical College, Calcutta, where he laid a solid foundation in medical sciences. He is the foremost Paediatrician in Kolkata. • Driven by a passion for paediatrics, Dr. Ghosh underwent rigorous postgraduate training in this speciality. He honed his skills at the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College in Pune and further enriched his expertise at the Institute of Child Health, Calcutta. His quest for advanced knowledge led him to the United Kingdom, where he pursued additional postgraduate training at renowned institutions such as Newcastle University and Liverpool University. • Dr. Ghosh's dedication to adolescent health is evident in his continuous pursuit of professional development. He has completed notable courses including the Certificate Course in Basics of Addiction Management and a Primer on Motivational Interviewing, both from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS). These courses have equipped him with essential skills to address complex adolescent health issues, particularly in addiction management and motivational interviewing techniques. • In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Ghosh is a prolific contributor to medical literature. He served as the Section Editor for "Social Media and Us" in the IAP Textbook of Adolescent Medicine (1st Edition) and authored several critical chapters in the same textbook, covering topics such as motivational interviewing, anxiety issues in adolescence, and suicidal tendencies in adolescents. His contributions extend to co-authoring the Adolescent Health Academy Statement on the Care of Transgender Children, Adolescents, and Youth in 2023, reflecting his advocacy for inclusive and comprehensive adolescent care. • Dr. Ghosh's leadership roles underscore his influence in the pediatric community.
