About Me

Dr. Anita Saxena has joined as Executive Director, Paediatric Cardiology, Fortis Escorts, Okhla Road, New Delhi. She is a renowned cardiologist with over 40 years of experience in patient care, teaching, research, and administration. She was the Chief of the Cardiothoracic Centre and Head of the Department of Cardiology, AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr. Saxena made significant contributions to pediatric cardiology in India, pioneering fetal cardiac diagnostic services and developing national guidelines for managing pediatric heart diseases. She has published 368 research papers and was named among the world’s top 2% scientists in 2023. Dr. Saxena has mentored over 40 doctoral students and delivered more than 200 lectures across India, currently, as Vice Chancellor of Pt. BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, oversees numerous health-related colleges. Internationally, she established pediatric cardiology services at the University of Manitoba, Canada, and has represented India at over 60 global forums. She has been honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Cardiological Society of India and the Pediatric Cardiac Society of India for her remarkable contributions to the field.
