Dr Gayathri Kamath is the Additional Director and Senior Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the flagship Fortis facility in Bangalore. She has over thirty years of experience in her field. She completed her MBBS from Bangalore Medical College and is a Topiwala National Medical College postgraduate alumnus and BYL Nair Charitable Hospital Mumbai. She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists U.K. She also holds a Fellowship and Diploma in minimal access surgery from World Laparoscopy Hospital. She has completed the DaVinci Robotic training program in gynecology She has been associated with this hospital ever since its inception. At Fortis, she has conducted over 8000 deliveries. Among the women delivered there have been several pregnant women with bad obstetric history and complex medical problems. Currently, she is catering to pregnant women during the antenatal phase, helping them sail through their nine months and guiding them on tips and strategies to achieve a good outcome. Her current focus is dealing with gynecological problems afflicting women from puberty to menopause. She is involved with promoting good health in women and has helped curate the women's wellness packages in our hospital. She offers conservative and surgical options on a case-to-case basis. Her special interests are heavy menstrual bleeding, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and infertility. She offers conservative and surgical options on a case-to-case basis. She has conducted several laparoscopic and Robotic hysterectomies with the help of her robust team in Fortis Hospital. She has been the steering force in creating an endometriosis support group This has been a giant stride in boosting the morale of several young women newly diagnosed with endometriosis.
